Pictou County Help Line is an incorporated, charitable, non-profit organization of volunteers established in 1983 by the Pictou County Council of Churches.

It is a telephone service that offers callers information, a listening ear, crisis intervention and suicide intervention. It also provides a referral service for other agencies such as Robes and Fishes, Pictou West Foodbank and Laubach Literacy Council.

Help Line Volunteers are lay people, retires and senior executives who respond to over 6,000 calls per year.

Pictou County Early Intervention is a home based program reaching out to children with special needs and their families, in the early years. The program is governed by a community Board of Directors. Services are free and confidential and provided to children aged birth to school age.

Services include home visits, program planning, case management, referrals, toy and resource lending, transition to preschool and school and support and education to parents and the community.

We are celebrating 10 years of service to children and families. Many thanks to our generous volunteers and supporters.
